Spinach ricotta stuffed shells

A delightful recipe for spinach ricotta stuffed shells that is easy to make and incredibly satisfying.

  • 12 large shell pasta
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup cooked spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the shell pasta according to the package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cooked spinach, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Fill each cooked shell with the cheese and spinach mixture.
  5. Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Place the stuffed shells in the dish and cover with the remaining marinara sauce.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try mixing in some herbs like basil or oregano into the ricotta mixture.
  • These stuffed shells can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
