Savory French Onion Pot Roast Recipe for Comfort Food Lovers

  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 2 cups onions, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup French onion soup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Season the roast with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large skillet, sear the roast on all sides.
  4. Place the onions and garlic in a roasting pan, then add the pot roast on top.
  5. Combine beef broth, French onion soup, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme, then pour over the roast.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 3 hours.
  7. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the top.
