  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs; beat until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • For chewier cookies, do not overbake them.
