Parmesan Italian Sausage Ditalini Soup: A Creamy Comfort Classic

A creamy and comforting soup featuring ditalini pasta, Italian sausage, and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 cup ditalini pasta
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, sauté onion, garlic, carrots, and celery until softened.
  3. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  4. Stir in ditalini pasta and cook until al dente.
  5. Lower the heat and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Add the cooked sausage back to the pot, season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer for a few minutes until heated through.

Notes

  • This soup can be made ahead of time and reheated.
  • Feel free to add more vegetables to the mix.
